In 1974 Gene Grossmann started selling quality Canadian manufactured boots out of the basement of his house to service the forest and fishing industry. With low overhead - and ceilings, he sold top brands for far less than the retail and department stores. Customers kept coming back with their friends and soon he needed to get a warehouse. He brought on brands such as Helly Hansen and Carhartt and quickly gained a reputation as the place to go for quality low priced work wear.
Since then the business has grown providing not only work wear, but safety and first aid products as well. All areas of industry are served including construction, forestry and manufacturing. Rental, repair and training services were added as well. Through all this, quality has always been the most important consideration.
With 3 locations serving Vancouver Island and the lower mainland we have been blessed to be serving some of the best companies in Canada. Ono has been fortunate to be able to build a team of professionals that are the best in the business. With almost 40 years in business we have been able to build a team of safety professionals that are second to none.
