Sports & Recreation
The Nanaimo Curling Club has a fine tradition of community involvement since 1947. Today NCC offers regular league play in men's, women's, mixed, play for people of all ages - from 9 to 99. We also have leagues and programs that are tailored to youth (school program, juniors) and athletes with special challenges (wheelchair, Special Olympics and visually impaired).
The Nanaimo Curling Centre provides a welcoming, accessible environment for people of all ages and abilities to build friendships, sportsmanship and skill development through the sport of curling. The Centre operates as a year-round facility responsive to the needs of the community.
The facilities of the club are also available to any group on a rental basis (subject to the availability of ice) with qualified instructors in attendance.
NCC is often used by CurlBC to host courses related to coaching and on-ice instruction. The club is proud to have several qualified coaches/instructors available. We are planning to offer programs to improve your game through personal coaching sessions.
In past years the NCC has been privileged to make the facilities available to community organizations such as the Heart & Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Diabetes Association. The facility has also been used in support of broader activities such as the Summer Games. Businesses and trade associations may also have access to the building for on-ice or off-ice events. These can be arranged through our Manager.
